The Ball

The illusion of the spinning Boing Ball was achieved entirely with 'color cycling'. Color cycling, also known as palette shifting, is a technique in which colors are changed in order to give the impression of animation. Changing the palette of an image requires less memory and processor power than storing the animation as several frames. Amigas are able to display multi-range color cycling where the cycling speed rate of each range can be different.
