The Bandelow Phonetic GER notation devised by Christoph Bandelow describes sequences of moves using german syllables. If spoken, a sequence of moves sounds similar like a german sentence.

Notation used for sequences of moves
----------------------------------
Clockwise 90° twists of the six faces are denoted by the syllables: «RE», «NE», «VE», «LE», «SE» and «HE», (right, up, front, left, down, back).

Clockwise 90° twists of the three middle layers are denoted by appending the letter «M» to the face twists: «REM», «NEM», «VEM», «LEM», «SEM» and «HEM».

Clockwise 90° rotations of the whole cube over the three face centered axes of the cube are denoted by appending the letter «B» to the face twists: «REB», «NEB», «VEB», «LEB», «SEB» and «HEB».

180° twists and rotations are denoted by replacing the vocal «E» by «U»: «NU», «NUM», «NUB», ... .

Counterclockwise twists and rotations are denoted by replacing the vocal «E» by «I»: «NI», «NIM», «NIB», ... .

Moves can be delimited using a no operation marker: «.» "point".
