Stuff You Can Get
| It's hard
for me to believe, but I've been writing LightWave plug-ins since 1994, several months
before version 4.0, the first release to support plug-ins and the first to run on the PC.
This page, in one form or another, has been on my site since 1996, and you'll still find
several plug-ins here that work with every version of LightWave back to that first one on
the PC. I've also added a few that I wrote as programming samples for the new (6.0 and
later) plug-in SDK. If you're looking for information about QV, my F9 render display plug-in, see this note. I've gotten a lot of help and support over the years. My thanks to Richard Brak, Arnie Cachelin, Matt Craig, Marvin Landis, Dave Paige, Gareth "Vigo" Shikles, Matthew Sorrels and Kenneth Woodruff for their advice and compiling assistance. |

| AreaVolume. Compute the area and volume of selected geometry in Modeler. | ||
| BinView. A binary file viewer. This is primarily of interest to programmers, but non-programmers can also use it to diagnose weird problems with objects and other binary files. | ||
| Geo. Load and save the Videoscape .geo object file format, a simple text format for storing 3D polygonal geometry. See the basic programming pages for a description of the format. | ||
| MandFilter. Use Layout to generate images of the Mandelbrot set. A blast from the past, but now the images are antialiased and animateable. | ||
| Unwrap. Create template images for painting texture maps. This is the original plug-in described in many texturing tutorials. | ||
| Unwrap II. A more advanced way to unwrap your polygons for painting texture maps. Runs in Layout and handles all projections, including UV. | ||
| ZComp. A simple compositing plug-in. This was written specifically for combining the output of LightWave and 3D Nature's World Construction Set, but you can also use it to combine different LightWave renders. | ||
