The Crash – Part 3

This short was created with DeluxePaint V, the major paint program on the Amiga back then. This was my first long run work and it took me about 4 weeks to complete the entire animation. The trickiest and most time consuming part for me was to get people run and walk like in real life.

The idea for 'The Crash' came out of the blue, but certainly has also to do with the fact that I am a big 'UH-60 Blackhawk' fan. I started first drawing the chopper based on measurements and images from a book and then created the backgrounds with tents, Hummers and so on. Afterwards I was drawing the people and added cans and lots of other stuff to make the scene look more realistic. Finally I had to figure out the right animation speed for the chopper and runners.

This animation was created on an Amiga A1200 with a 1.2 GB hard drive. Everything worked out fine and I remember having a really good feeling to see how everything comes in place bit by bit ... Enjoy!
